Police kill two bandits in Benue

The Benue State Police Command said operatives of Operation Zenda neutralised two bandits in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of the state.

According to the statement released by the command, operatives of Operation Zenda stormed the hideout of the bandits located at Tse Uza, Mbatyula Council Ward in Katsina-Ala LGA, and upon arrival at the camp, they engaged the bandits in a gun duel.

“Two of the bandits received gunshot injuries. They have been confirmed dead by a doctor and their corpses deposited at the General Hospital, Ukum, while other suspects escaped,” the statement disclosed.

Items recovered from them include two pistols loaded with ammunition, three locally made short guns, 13 motorcycles, camouflage uniforms, six walkie-talkies, one Toyota Corolla and one tricycle.

The Sankera axis, which comprises Logo, Katsina-Ala and Ukum local government areas, is the flashpoint of criminality in the state.
