Police debunk rumour of food truck attack, looting in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has officially dismissed rumours circulating on social media platforms regarding an alleged attack and looting of a food truck within the State.

In a press release issued by ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Katsina, the Command categorically stated that the rumours are entirely false and unsubstantiated.

It said it carried out a thorough investigation and found that no such incident occurred within the state, saying there is no evidence supporting claims that a trailer loaded with foodstuffs was attacked or looted at any point in time.

The Katsina Commissioner of Police, CP Musa Aliyu, urged the public to refrain from spreading false information, warning that “the dissemination of such baseless rumours is not only mischievous but also detrimental to the peace and security of the entire country.”

Musa assured the public of the command’s commitment to upholding law and order. He warned that appropriate action will be taken against those who spread misinformation for malicious purposes.

The Commissioner encouraged members of the public to rely on official sources of information and refrain from sharing unverified news that could lead to unwarranted fear and anxiety.
