Police beef up security ahead of Eid-el-Fitr celebrations in Kogi

Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha has ordered all Divisional Police Officers, as well as their Supervisory Area Commanders, Tactical and Operational Commanders to beef up security within their Areas of Responsibility before, during and after the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations

Onuoha in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Willam Over Aya in Lokoja, said watertight security has also been put in place by massive deployment of patrol teams along the major highways and undercover operations to black spots, flashpoints, and other vulnerable criminal spots.

This, according to the statement, is to make sure the celebration is hitch-free and reported cases of breach of the law promptly attended to by officers and men on the field.

He reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment to working in synergy with other security agencies, as well as critical stakeholders in ensuring the safety of lives and property through credible information gathering and sharing from the public.

While felicitating with Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, he congratulated them for the successful completion of fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.
