Police authorizes Baker Hughes to destroy expired explosive materials

The Rivers State Police Command has officially authorized Baker Hughes Company Limited to undertake the rendering and disposal of expired explosive materials under its custody.

A statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, said the disposal exercise is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, March 12 to Friday, March 15th, 2024.

The statement revealed the Explosive Ordnance Disposal, EOD, unit of the command will oversee the process, commencing daily at 9:00am in Kporghor community, Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State.

In light of this activity, the Command urged the general public and residents of Kporghor community not to be alarmed by any loud sounds during the exercise.

The Police also assured that all necessary precautions have been implemented to mitigate any potential risks.
