The Plateau State Police Command on Thursday said it has arrested two armed robbery suspects.
It also said that in the process of the aforementioned, it recovered arms, ammunition, and a motorcycle.
This was disclosed by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Alfred Alabo in Jos, the State Capital.
He said, “The support and cooperation of members of the public, especially Plateau residents, in providing accurate and timely information to the police on the Plateau, has continued to assist the command to get rid of criminal elements in the state.
“The Commissioner of Police Plateau Command, Hassan Yabanet, expresses gratitude to Plateau residents for their unflinching support, cooperation, and for sharing in the glory of Plateau State Police Command in the recent arrest of two armed robbery suspects in Mavo Community of Wase LGA part of the State.
According to him, “While acting on credible intelligence on April 10, 2024, at 16:30 hours relating to a robbery incident at Angwan Sakuwa-Mavo where a man was robbed of his motorcycle in his residence, police detectives attached to Wase Division of the Command, in collaboration with some local security help groups, swung into action and nabbed Musa Adamu and Sale Joga, both males of Mavo community of Wasa LGA.
“Exhibits recovered from the suspects include one AK-47 rifle with 7.62mm ammunition.
Alabo, however, said the case is still under investigation, and the suspects will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is completed.
“In view of the above arrest, the CP sends a stern warning to criminals to repent of their nefarious acts or flee out of the state, as the police will not relent in its aggressive onslaught on criminals in the state,” he warned.
