Police arrest three suspected armed robbers, recover arms

The Police in Lagos State said it had arrested three suspected armed robbers and cultists who have been terrorising different parts of the state.

The Command`s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this to NAN in Lagos on Tuesday.

He said that information from the public led to the arrest of the first suspect, simply identified as Bright, aged 34, at the Iba area.

Hundeyin said further investigation led to the arrest of another 23 and 28-year-old suspects in the Jakande-Lekki area of the state.

“Three locally made semi-automatic pistols, one locally made revolver, four rounds of live cartridges and 129 rounds of 9mm ammunition were recovered from them.

“The suspects are to be arraigned after an ongoing investigation,” he said.

The spokesman commended Lagos residents for the timely information which helped in the arrest of the suspects.

“Policing is everyone’s business, see something, say something,“ he said.
