Police arrest suspected vandals in Jigawa

Police in Jigawa State have arrested one Babangida Abubakar for allegedly vanderlizing electric cable wire in Kaugama local government.

Spokesman of the command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to newsmen.

He said the police received a report that a high-tension cable wire along Ubba road in Kaugama LGA was reported to have been vandalized by undesirable elements.

He said police patrol teams, particularly on the highway along Hadejia to Kano/ Hadejia to Nguru, were mobilised around the area.

According to him, “following an actionable and credible intel, on the same date, the brave men attached to Guri Divisional Police Headquarters, suspected and arrested one Babangida Abubakar of Hadejia LGA who reside in Nguru LGA of Yobe state in connection with the incident.”

He said on interrogation at the Divisional Crime Branch, the suspect confessed to the commission of the offence and further mentioned one Abdullahi Isma’il of Nguru LGA, Yobe State as the recipient and was also arrested.

Investigation indicated that the principal suspect was once convicted for the same offence.
