Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested Blessing Ogunu, a staff member of Bliss Legacy Limited, a real estate company based in Benin City, for alleged self-abduction.

According to the police spokesman, Blessing Ogunu allegedly faked her own abduction and demanded a N4.8 million ransom for her release.

Nwabuzor said the suspects were arrested by operatives of the anti-kidnapping and crime unit using technical intelligence.

According to him, the Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit received a complaint from one Samuel Prince Omomuzo of No. 102 Ihama Road, GRA, Benin City, who reported that one Blessing Ogunu, a staff of Bliss Legacy Limited, Benin City, was kidnapped in Benin and the kidnappers demanded a N4.8 million ransom.

Nwabuzor added that during interrogation, the supposed Blessing Ogunu confessed that she masterminded her own abduction because her company refused to allocate land to a customer whom they had received money from.
