Police arrest fraudster who impersonated Delta SSG

A member of a syndicate that specialises in impersonating top government officials, particularly the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), has been arrested.

Samsom Ibiloma, 52, a native of Dekina LGA, Kogi State, was apprehended by the Delta State Police Command’s operatives of the Decoy Squad when they stormed Walter Odili Area by Enerhen Junction in Warri.

The suspect confessed to impersonating government officials and also admitted to having defrauded victims of over N10 million.

He also fingered one Stephen Odeemero as the mastermind of the syndicate.

Commissioner of Police Wale Abass subsequently called on residents of the state who had fallen victim to their fraudulent act to visit the command headquarters or the PPRO office.

“His arrest was sequel to a series of complaints received from multiple victims about a suspected fraudster impersonating the Secretary to State Government of Delta State who defrauded victims seeking jobs to the tune of millions of naira.

“For a long while, this syndicate has been operating under the alias of Hon. Kingsley Emu, the Secretary to the Delta State Government. The suspect is in custody and efforts are on to arrest other fleeing members of the gang,” the Commissioner of Police stated.
