The Nasarawa State Police Command has successfully apprehended a suspected thief, Yusuf Isah, and recovered a stolen vehicle in the Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, on Sunday.
“On February 23, 2o24, at about 11:24 am, a complaint was lodged at Nasarawa Division by one Aisha Usman of Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, that she parked her vehicle, a red Toyota Corolla with registration number NSW 949 PJ, at the premises of Government Day Secondary, by Nasarawa main market and later discovered it had been taken away.
“Upon receipt of the complaint, a manhunt was launched to arrest the suspect and recover the stolen vehicle. The effort paid off when one Yusuf Isah of Koton Karfe Local Government Area of Kogi State was intercepted by well-meaning members of the public along Oversea Road.
Consequently, the police were called upon, and the suspect was arrested, and the vehicle was recovered from him as exhibit,” the statement reads.
Nansel stated that Commissioner of Police Umar Shehu Nadada, while commending the efforts of the members of the public for their support, assures them of the command’s unwavering commitment to their safety.
