Police in Jigawa State have arrested over 55 suspected criminals over alleged kidnapping and armed robbery.
Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdullahi, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the command’s achievements in the last 10 days since he assumed office.
Abdullahi explained that the suspects included 25 suspected thieves and vandals, three suspected kidnappers, 10 suspected armed robbers, and two suspected human traffickers.
Others are 10 suspected motor vehicle and motorcycle thieves and three suspected mobile phone thieves
He said the command has recovered three locally fabricated firearms, four motor vehicles, six motorcycles, N3,650,000 in cash, and nine Android phones.
Other recovered items include 32 cows, five sheep, vandalised armour cables and wires, sesame, millet, and groundnut, valued at N450,000; 261 wraps of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp; and 176 tablets of Exol.
He said the suspects would be taken to court after the conclusion of investigations.
