Police arrest 38-year-old motorcyclist with gun, hard drugs in Delta

Operatives of the Eagle-Net Special Squad Surveillance Team on routine patrol along the Oviri-Ogor road have arrested a 38-year-old motorcycle rider, Orji Timothy.

He was nabbed with a locally made double-barrel pistol containing two live cartridges, twenty sachets of 100mg Tramadol, one sachet of Swinol and two cutlasses in Ughelli community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The police first flagged down the suspect on his motorcycle on 24/04/2024, at about 14:45 hrs.

During the search, a sizable quantity of weed suspected to be Indian hemp was recovered from him.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the report in a statement sent to DAILY POST.

He noted that the recovery of the Indian hemp necessitated the arrest of the 38-year-old motorcycle rider, Orji Timothy, a resident of No. 21 Olotu Street, Ughelli.

According to SP Edafe, “The operatives further extended their search to the suspect’s residence, where a locally made double-barrel pistol with two live cartridges, twenty sachets of 100mg Tramadol, one sachet of Swinol, and two cutlasses were recovered.”
