Plateau Massacre: ‘I watched the video, it’s horror’ – Shehu Sani laments

A former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani has reacted to the recent horrifying incidents that occurred in Plateau State on Christmas Eve.

DAILY POST reported the blood-curling simultaneous attacks by assailants on over fifteen communities in the Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of the state on Christmas Eve.

The terrorists set different houses ablaze on Sunday night and also looted farm produce and destroyed properties as they butchered the residents.

The Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, on Tuesday, disclosed on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily that the death toll in the Christmas Eve attacks in the state has risen to over 115.

However, speaking on the development, Sani, in a tweet via his X account on Tuesday, said he watched the video of the outcome of the massacre in Plateau, adding that the scene of a baby crying on the back of the corpse of his/her mother was horror.

He also described the sad incident as one of the most cruel and evil acts of inhumanity he has ever seen.

Sani wrote, “I watched the video of the outcome of the Massacre in Plateau State. This is one of the most cruel and evil acts of inhumanity I’ve ever seen. Should we condemn it and unequivocally demand justice or should we continue with the complicit practice of the deodorisation of mass murder using religious or ethnic sentiments?

“The scene of a baby crying on the back of the corpse of its mother is horror that should haunt the conscience of every responsible citizen of this country.”
