Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago has urged the Federal Government to do all within its power to ensure that perpetrators of the killings in Plateau State are not only apprehended but also prosecuted.
The governor, who stated this in Minna, described the Christmas Eve attacks on communities in Plateau State as unwarranted and unacceptable.
Decrying the development, he said: “It is unfortunate that while the people were preparing to celebrate in love, joy, and happiness, those who have no value for life decided to turn people’s joy into sorrow.”
Bago sympathised with the people and government of Plateau State, especially the affected families while praying to God to grant quick recovery to those injured and bring back those displaced safely to their ancestral homes.
DAILY POST recalls that gunmen attacked several communities in Plateau State on Christmas Eve, killing over 100 people, while several others were injured, with thousands displaced.
