Australia forward Alanna Smith has confessed the Opals failed to match D’Tigress’s physicality in their Group B clash at the 2024 Olympic Games.
The Aussies were humbled 75–62 by Rena Wakama’s side.
Smith admitted that they turned over the ball too much in the game.
” Turning the ball over though was the crux of the game,” she said after the game.
” We turned the ball over way too much and we were not ready to step up to the physicality of the game.”
Australia will face Canada in their next game, while Nigeria will be up against host France.
