Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum has revealed the reason behind his decision not to play Asisat Oshoala in Friday’s 1-0 win against South Africa.
The reigning CAF women’s Player of the Year was left on the bench for the entire duration of the game.
Oshoala only arrived at camp a day before the first leg encounter.
Waldrum said Oshoala was tired after long hours of traveling.
The American, however, said the forward will be assessed ahead of the second leg in Pretoria next Tuesday.
”Asisat just arrived at camp and obviously and visibly she looks tired from the long travels she had, this explains why I didn’t feature her in the game,” Waldrum told reporters.
” I will assess her fitness level to be able to decide if she will feature in the reverse fixture taking place next week in South Africa.”
