Paris 2024 Olympics: Nigeria’s last medal hope Reuben crashes out in Wrestling

Nigeria’s hope of winning a medal at the ongoing 2024 Olympic Games went up in thin air after Hannah Reuben crashed out in the women’s freestyle wrestling 76kg on Saturday.

Reuben lost 5-2 to Mongolia’s Davaanasan Amar in their Round of 16 contest.

Her ouster capped a disastrous outing for Nigeria in Paris 2024.

It’s the first time the country has failed to win a single medal at the Olympics since the 2012 edition hosted by London.

Much was expected from top athletes like Tobi Amusan, Ese Brume and Favour Ofili, but they failed to live up to the hype.
