The Super Falcons still have a chance of qualifying for the knockout stages of the football event at the ongoing Olympic Games in Paris, France.

Nigeria suffered their second consecutive defeat in the group stage to Spain on Sunday.

In their first fixture, they lost 1-0 to Brazil, with veteran Marta grabbing the only goal.

The Falcons also suffered another narrow loss to Spain, with Putellas clinching the winner with a direct free goal.

Randy Waldrum’s ladies are now rooted to the bottom of Group C with zero points.

Nigeria are now condemned to beat Japan in their final group game, to stand a chance of qualifying to the next stage as one of the best losers in the football event.
