Team Nigeria’s Kanyinsola Ajayi and Favour Ashe failed to make it to the final of the men’s 100m at the ongoing 2024 Olympic Games.
The duo were hoping to make a big impression on their maiden appearance at the Olympics.
Ajayi, who came out on top in his heat on Saturday, finished in sixth place with a time of 10.13s in the second semi-final.
South Africa’s Akani Simbine won the race in a time of 9.87s, while Letsile Tebogo of Botswana placed second in a time of 9.91s.
Ashe also finished sixth in his semi-final.
The race was won by Jamaica’s Oblique Seville in a time of 9.81s, while world champion Noah Lyles finished second in 9.83s.
