Osun Amotekun arrest security guard for theft

Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps have arrested a 25-year-old man, Micheal Eze for theft of nine air conditioners.

Eze, who hails from Ebonyi State, worked as a private security guard at the GRA, Osogbo before he was arrested.

The Amotekun Osun Corps Commander, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, rtd, in a statement obtained by DAILY POST, revealed that the suspect was arrested on Monday at the GRA Osogbo around 7:30 am.

According to Adewinmbi, “Eze was arrested for stealing air conditioners from the house where he was employed as a private security guard.

“The operatives swung into action after a complaint was made against the suspect for stealing the air-conditioners from the house where he works as a security guard.

“He was caught in the act after selling nine air conditioners worth four hundred thousand Naira each to Hausa scrap buyers at five thousand Naira each. Two air-conditioners were recovered from his buyers.

“Upon preliminary investigation, he confessed to perpetrating the act and and revealed that this is not his first time of perpetrating the crime and selling the stolen items to his Hausa scrap customers.”

The suspect has been handed over to the Department of State Services, DSS, for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
