Ondo Speaker fumes, condemns attack on lawmaker’s aides, vehicle

Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, has described the attack on the aides and official vehicle of the member representing Okitipupa Constituency 1 in the Assembly, Chris Ayebusiwa, as barbaric.

Oladiji, who frowned at the development, stated that the incident was capable of disturbing the existing peace in the state.

Ayebusiwa had cried out over an attack on his aides, including his driver and security aide, in Akure, the state capital, at the weekend by thugs he alleged to be loyal to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

With his aides said to have been injured by the thugs, the lawmaker maintained that the attackers bore the insignia of the campaign slogan of the governor, ‘Odatiwa.’

He appealed to law enforcement agencies to investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to book.

While sympathising with Ayebusiwa over the incident, he described the actions of the attackers as uncalled for.
