Ondo NDDC commissioner flays Aiyedatiwa over stakeholders’ meeting

The representative of Ondo State on the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Otito Atikase, has carpeted Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa over the stakeholders’ meeting of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, held at his instance.

Atikase, who described the meeting as factional, emphasised that the meeting should have been convened by the chairman of the party in the state, Ade Adetimehin, rather than Aiyedatiwa, who is also a gubernatorial aspirant.

Aiyedatiwa had last week met with some leaders of the party in the state. The meeting was shunned by other aspirants.

Atikase, who spoke in Akure, the state capital, stressed that Ade Adetimehin, as the party chairman in the stare, should not have participated in the meeting to maintain neutrality.

He expressed concerns that the involvement of Adetimehin could further heighten the existing divisions within the party.

Atikase, who pledged to support any candidate who emerges from the forthcoming primaries of the party in April, expressed confidence in the party’s final decision, which he said would be binding on all party members.

Regarding the dissolution of the State Executive Council, SEC, he maintained that Ayedatiwa should have waited until after the primaries.

On the neglected Ugbo-Owoye road and Agadagba-Obon bridge, he stressed that the projects will be accorded to priority status.

He added that he had taken proactive measures to revive abandoned projects in the Niger Delta area of the state.
