Ondo guber: PDP to hold campaign rally on Akure Expressway

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has prepared the stage to flag off its campaign rally on the busy Oba Adesida -Oyemekun highway.

This is coming amid the Ondo State Government’s refusal to allow the PDP to use the Democracy Park as a venue for the rally.

The state government in a statement, said the PDP applied for the use of Democracy Park on October 11, 2024.

It said another support group had already booked and secured approval for the use of Democracy Park on the same date.

“The M.K.O. Abiola Park (Democracy Park) is a revenue-generating property of the state government, open to all citizens and residents who apply early and follow the proper procedures to secure approval.

“Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is a refined gentleman, far too dignified to engage in the petty and indecent politicking the PDP has wrongfully accused him of,” the statement said.

However, the spokesman for the Ondo PDP Campaign Council, Ayo Fadaka, asked the people to blame what he described as the ‘irresponsibility of the pedestrian government’ as the cause of any inconveniences they might suffer during the rally.
