Shooting Stars defender Omololu Waheed Abiodun is optimistic about the team’s chances of securing a continental ticket.
Omololu said that the Oluyole Warriors have all it takes to finish among the top three teams in the league.
Shooting Stars currently occupy the sixth position on the Nigeria Premier Football League table with 49 points, six points behind table toppers Rangers, who are on 54 points.
“It was a match we had hoped to win to further enhance our push for the league title and a top-three finish, but it didn’t go our way,” he told the club’s media.
“That’s football for you. You win, draw or lose, but I’m optimistic we will bounce back to winning ways on Sunday when we host Sunshine Stars.
“We must put that defeat behind us and focus on the remaining games with the sole aim of winning those games, which is quite possible.”
Shooting Stars will face Sunshine Stars in a South West derby clash in Ibadan this weekend.
