Oil theft: Vessel arrested with 88,000 litres of stolen crude in Bayelsa

Operatives of Tantita Security Services Limited, in collaboration with security agencies in Nigeria, have arrested a vessel laden with about 88,000 litres of stolen crude.

Also arrested on board the vessel are twelve crew members, including three other members of Sanga community, Bayelsa State, where the vessel, Harbor Spirit, was arrested at about 1:00 am on Sunday, February 4, 2024, DAILY POST can report.

The vessel with IMO No: 8226272 is currently anchored at Tantita facility at Oporoza, headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

The arrest of the vessel, Harbor Spirit, is coming barely a month after MT Karli was arrested, also in Bayelsa State.

The suspects were promptly handed over to the Police for further investigation at the scene.
