Oil spill suspected to emanate from the facility of ExxonMobil has triggered another protest by youths in Eket local government area of Akwa Ibom State.
According to the leader of the protest Mr. Paul said the “operation by Mobil will not continue until our demands are met. We want Mobil to negotiate with us on how and when to clean the spill and adequate compensation paid because our waters with aquatic lives and farmlands have been seriously polluted by frequent oil spills from Mobil facilities”,
He stressed that the spill occupied on Friday and as a matter of fact has destroyed the activities of our people whose way of living is earn by water, he further call on IOC to call for negotiation by the Eket Local Government Area and the host communities..
