Obaseki orders police to fish out killers of 22-year-old UNIBEN graduate

The Edo State Government has given seven days to the State Police Command to fish out the killers of 22-year-old Miss Adekolure Idowu Glory, a recent graduate of the University of Benin, UNIBEN.

DAILY POST reports that Adekolure was allegedly raped and killed in Iyowa, a community along the Benin-Lagos expressway, Benin City, in Ovia North-East Local Government Area, on Thursday, June 13, 2024.

Governor Godwin Obaseki, who condemned in the strongest terms the alleged rape and gruesome murder of the victim, gave the order to the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, in Benin.

A statement by Commissioner for Communication and Orientation Chris Nehikhare expressed shock and sadness over the incident.

Nehikhare noted that Governor Godwin Obaseki has ordered the Commissioner of Police to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly and unconscionable act within the next seven days.

Nehikhare explained that the victim was reportedly on her way home from processing her clearance when she was tortured and raped to death by yet-to-be-identified persons, and her remains were dropped close to her mother’s house.
