The Management of National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has informed members of the public, especially prospective Corps members, parents and guardians that deployment, posting, relocation and other services, as well as provision of kit items, are provided at no cost.
In a statement signed by Eddy Megwa, its Director, Press and Public Relations, the agency also advised stakeholders to beware of some unscrupulous persons that are using online platforms to defraud the unsuspecting members of the public by advertising NYSC kits that are issued to Corps members in the Orientation Camp.
“Management hereby restates its commitment to ensuring that no Corps member is defrauded by these online advertisers,” the statement said.
“Similarly, efforts are on-going with the security agencies to apprehend and prosecute the faceless individuals behind these ignominious acts.”
Meanwhile, as the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Orientation Course starts on Thursday, the NYSC further instructed prospective Corps members not to embark on night journey while going to their respective Orientation Camps.
“In case their trip is going beyond 6pm, they are advised to pass the night in any military or police barrack, NYSC Formation, Corps Lodges and other safe places and continue their journey the following day,” the statement added.
