NPFL: Yemi Olanrewaju takes permanent charge at Enyimba

Yemi Olanrewaju has started his reign as Enyimba’s permanent head coach, DAILY POST reports.

The young tactician took charge of Enyimba’s first training session ahead of the new season in Aba on Friday.

Olanrewaju was appointed interim head coach of the nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, champions in May.

Prior to his appointment, he was assistant to Finidi George, who moved up to handle the Super Eagles.

The former Golden Eaglets assistant coach was approached by Finidi to work with him at Rivers United but opted to stay at Enyimba.

Enyimba finished third in the NPFL last season and will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup in the upcoming campaign.

The People’s Elephant were drawn bye in the first round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The two times African champions will face the winner of the preliminary round tie between Guinea’s Haifa FC and Rahimo of Burkina Faso in the first round.
