Sporting Lagos head coach, Paul Offor has hailed the contribution of newly recruited duo, Muhammad Jamil and David Adeleke in the club’s 1-0 win against Rivers United.
Both players made their debuts in the game at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Wednesday.
Offor admitted that the duo helped in stabilising the weak defence of the team.
He added that the win eased the pressure on his side
“The new players came very handy in the game most especially Jamil and Adeleke,” he told DAILY POST.
“Both players helped us beef up the defence, which we have been struggling with during the course of the first round.
“We hope to build on the win when the second stanza resumes later in the week.”
The victory ended Sporting Lagos seven-game winless run in the NPFL.
