NPFL sanction Enyimba, Doma United for misconduct

The Nigeria Premier Football League ((NPFL) have sanctioned Enyimba and Doma United for breaching its framework and rules.

The matchday 24 encounter between both teams in Aba was abandoned following the controversy that trailed the winning goal scored by Enyimba late in the game.

Title holders Enyimba will pay a fine of N7m for various offences, including non provision of adequate security, encroachment on to the pitch by their fans and other unauthorized persons as well as disruption of live broadcast of the match.

The Enyimba Stadium will also be closed for fans in their next three home league matches.

The NPFL fined Doma United N2m for misconduct and failure to ensure proper conduct of their players and officials.

Both clubs have 48 hours to appeal the decision.
