Ondo State Government has showered praise on Sunshine Stars for their victory over Akwa United.
The state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, gave the commendation in Akure.
Ogunleye said the team showed dedication and commitment in achieving the result.
Ibrahim Yusuf netted a brace for the Owena Waves at the Akure Township Stadium on Sunday.
“Our players showed total dedication and commitment in the game against Akwa United, which later paid off in the second half. Both players and fans are happy with the positive result,” he stated in a chat with the media.
“We shall continue to bank on the masses’ support as we continue the journey to reposition the team and Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) for efficient and better performances.”
“I still solicit for more support from our sport-loving governor and football stakeholders in the state as we engage Doma United in the midweek clash in Gombe.”
Sunshine Stars moved up to 11th position following the victory.
