Enyimba head coach, Yemi Olanrewaju has praised his players for their resilience in the victory over Lobi Stars.
Olanrewaju’s side claimed a 2-1 victory over Lobi Stars in the rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League encounter.
Ufere Chinedu opened scoring on his home debut in the 13th minute with a stunning strike, while captain Eze Ekwutoziam doubled the lead from the penalty spot three minutes later.
Lobi Stars’ Waheed Adebayo pulled one back with a 37th-minute volley.
“We’re happy to get the three points; that’s what matters,” Olarenwaju told the club’s official website.
“The league is a marathon, and every game counts. Getting maximum points at home is crucial.”
The nine-time champions will now shift attention to Sunday’s clash with Finidi George’s Rivers United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt.
