NPFL: Ogunbote gives update on Shooting Stars’ future

Shooting Stars Technical Adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, has hinted at a possible exit from the club following the expiration of his contract.

Ogunbote made the announcement after Shooting Stars’ final match against Sporting Lagos at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on Sunday.

Shooting Stars defeated the modest club 1-0 in the game.

The veteran tactician also revealed that there have been talks of an extension.

“As I talk to you, my contract will expire at the end of the game against Sporting Lagos,” he told the media.

“They are talking about a contract extension, they are bringing on offers until we get to a conclusive aspect of it, but we say the season is over for Shooting Stars.”

Ogunbote rejoined the Oluyole Warriors for a second spell in 2022.

Shooting Stars finished in fourth position on the NPFL table in the just concluded season.
