NPFL: Lobi Stars reclaim top spot, Sporting Lagos floor Pillars

Lobi Stars returned to the summit of the Nigeria Premier Football League after claiming a 2-1 away win against Bayelsa United in Yenagoa on Monday.

The Makurdi club top the standings with 13 points from seven games.

Samuel Tiza stunned the home fans when he scored the opening goal for Lobi Stars a minute before the half hour mark.

The hosts fought back with Robert Mizo netting the equaliser three minutes before the break.

It was Mizo’s sixth goal of the campaign and it put the forward on top of the scorers chart.

Tiza scored the winning goal for Lobi Stars in the 67th minute.

In Lagos, Sporting Lagos thrashed four-time champions, Kano Pillars 3-0.

Former Pillars forward, Junior Lokosa fired a brace against his erstwhile club.

Jonathan Alukwu scored the other goal for Sporting Lagos.
