Akwa United have urged the club supporters to exercise patience with the team.
The Promise Keepers Chairman, Elder Paul Bassey made the call in a chat with the club’s media on Wednesday.
Akwa United are winless in five league outings this season.
“If there is any time the club needs support, total support, it is now that we are struggling to overcome the hangover of last season,” Bassey told Akwa United’s media.
“Our players play well at away matches, only to be subjected to unnecessary pressure at home causing them to be anxious.
“It is only in Uyo that a pocket of fans will start cheering the opposition few minutes into the match in a game where the outcome can only be known at the blast of the final whistle after 90 minutes” the management noted.
“In other climes, teams lose scandalously at home, yet come next week-end, not a single seat will be found empty in the stadium and some of us support these teams forever, through thick and thin.”
