North West Development Commission appointments not balanced – Christian group tells Tinubu

The Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP) has expressed reservation with President Bola Tinubu’s recent appointments to the board of directors of the North West Development Commission.

Isaac Abrak, Chairman, Northern Christian Youth Professionals, faulted the appointments in a statement on Friday.

“Unfortunately, these appointments do not reflect the diversity of the region, as no Christians from the six states were selected,” the statement said.

The statement added, “For the sake of inclusivity and fair representation, it is imperative that Christians are appointed to the Commission.”

According to Abrak, the current situation is unacceptable and perpetuates marginalization.

He urged Tinubu to reassess the appointments and make necessary adjustments to ensure a balanced representation.

Abram opined that leaving the appointments unchanged would have negative consequences for the Commission’s success and exacerbate religious divisions in the region and Nigeria as a whole.
