NNL Super Eight: El-Kanemi Warriors fine N1m for improper conduct

The Nigeria National League has fined El-Kanemi Warriors N1m for improper conduct during their opening match at the Super Eight playoff against Nasarawa United.

The club’s supporters encroached on the pitch of play after they had a goal cancelled by the centre referee.

The NNL Disciplinary Committee described the action as a show of shame which is punishable by the rule book.

In addition, the head of the El-Kanemi Warriors supporters club has been banned for the rest of the ongoing Super Eight playoff tournament.

The NNL also advised the management board of El-Kanemi Warriors to educate its supporters more on football rules.

El-Kanemi Warriors will face Sporting Supreme in their matchday two fixture at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Monday(today).
