The Nigeria National League, NNL, has extended the resumption date of the second stanza of the 2023/24 season.
The resumption date was earlier scheduled for Friday, February 16, 2024 but will now kick-start on Friday March 1, 2024.
The NNL board made the announcement after their meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.
The NNL stated that the shift in date is aimed at ensuring clubs finalise their mid-season registrations and medicals for new players.
They also pledged to provide more enabling environment to all 40 clubs to perform adequately in the league.
Madiba FC and Ikorodu City currently occupy top position in the NNL Conference A and B table, while Wikki Tourists and Sporting Supreme occupy the summit in Conference C and D.
Two teams will qualify from each group for the playoffs where the winner of the league will be decided.
