NLC responds to terrorism financing allegation as Joe Ajaero honours police invitation

The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has responded to allegations by the Nigeria Police accusing its National President, Joe Ajaero, of links to terrorism financing, treasonable felony and other related offenses.

DAILY POST recalls that the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Monday invited Joe Ajaero for questioning over allegations of terrorism financing, treasonable felony, cybercrime and other related offenses.

The invitation was contained in a letter dated August 19, 2024, and signed by ACP Adamu Muazu on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence Response Team.

According to the letter, sighted by our correspondent, the police warned that a warrant of arrest would be issued if Ajaero failed to appear for interrogation on Tuesday (today).

However, when contacted by DAILY POST, the spokesperson for the Congress, Benson Upah, denied the police’s claims.

“In this country, when we talk about people who care about sovereignty, dignity, and safety, it is us, the citizens.

“We see it as an inalienable duty and responsibility to keep this country safe for every one of us.”
