Nigeria Navy nabs four stowaways aboard Dubai vessel

The Nigerian Navy Ship BEECROFT on Monday apprehended an 18-year-old boy and three other stowaways onboard a container vessel, TEME EXPRESS, heading to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

This was revealed in a statement released on Wednesday by H. A. Collins, the Base Information Officer for NNS BEECROFT.

Michael Daniel, 18, from Ondo State; Ebi Agrive, 22 from Bayelsa State; Lucky Amusu, 23, from Lagos State; and Goodness Edu, 28, from Akwa Ibom State, are among the stowaways.

Commodore Kolawole Oguntuga, the Commander of NNS BEECROFT, stated that the arrest was made on November 13 based on intelligence obtained from the Maritime Domain Awareness Facility.

The statement read in part, “The NNS BEECROFT patrol team, while on a routine patrol, successfully extracted and apprehended some individuals on Monday, November 13, onboard a container vessel TEME EXPRESS, which was en route to Dubai.

“The tactical teams were dispatched to the vessel at the Lagos Anchorage, the sequel to receiving information from the Maritime Domain Awareness Facility, the Falcon Eye Alignment.”
