Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, has called on Nigerians to give their best to the country if they want to see a better nation.
Makinde made the call in Ibadan on Thursday during the Independence Day Walk, held in commemoration of Nigeria’s independence.
The Independence Day Walk, a walk over 2.5 kilometres, took off from the Government House Arcade at Agodi, passed through Total Garden Roundabout and terminated at the front area of the Governor’s Office at the State Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Prof. Olanike Adeyemo, the governor urged Nigerians to do something within their capacity towards the country’s growth.
He further charged Nigerians to continue praying for Nigeria and to seek the good of the country despite ongoing challenges.
Makinde expressed hope that Nigeria would get better, urging Nigerians to pray for divine wisdom and guidance for their leaders in making the right decisions that would make the country great.
“Nigeria is not the only country faced with challenges, because other nations in the world are also experiencing trying times,” he said.
