Niger Gov, Bago mourns former NLC chairman, Ndako

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has commiserated with the state council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) over the death of its former chairman, Comrade Yahaya Idris Ndako.

The governor, who attended the funeral prayers of the former state labour leader in Minna, described his death as a great loss to the state considering his contributions to the growth and development of the labour movement.

Bago, in a press statement by his chief press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, recalled the role of the late Idris Ndako when he led a screening committee to sanitise the state civil service.

He prayed to God to reward his efforts, forgive his shortcomings, and grant him Aljannah Firdausi.

The governor also prayed that God would comfort the family of the deceased, the NLC Niger State Council, and all the well-wishers of the deceased.

The late Ndako Idris Sallawu was a two-term chairman of the NLC and was also a former general secretary of the Nigeria Civil Service Union.

Ndako was also the Coordinator on Labour Affairs to Governor Bago.
