NFF suspends referee, assistant over poor officiating

The Nigeria Football Federation Refereeing Development Unit has dropped center referee, Jimoh Abdurasheed and his assistant, Zakari Adamu from further officiating in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The duo were in charge of the matchday 24 fixture involving Rivers United and Kano Pillars at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium last weekend.

The two teams battled to a 1-1 draw in the game.

The move was necessitated after a petition by Kano Pillars to the NPFL.

The officials were said to have been involved in an unprofessional conduct which resulted in Rivers United’s equaliser in the encounter.

The decision to drop the officials is said to have been communicated to the NFF president and the general secretary.
