Newly promoted ‘Dancing Husseini’, other traffic wardens decorated in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Police has decorated newly promoted traffic wardens.

The officers include Husseini Jidauna, who is widely known in the state capital, Yola, for his entertaining gesticulative traffic control style.

Famously called ‘Dancing Husseini’, the warden who is most often found at a busy junction called AA Lawan in Jimeta, Yola North LGA, where he controls traffic, attracts the admiration of many both for his unique expressive working mode and matching friendliness.

Consequently, he gets lots of gifts, mostly cash, from passing motorists.

He was in 2022 rewarded by the state command for the acclaimed passion he puts into his work.

He and the other promotion beneficiaries advanced from the rank of Traffic Warden Grade One (TW GRD I) to Senior Traffic Warden (STW) and were accordingly decorated in Yola at the weekend.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, decorated the officers sequel to the recent promotion welfare initiative approved by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.

The commissioner encouraged them to maintain the high standards expected of their new ranks.
