Opara succeeds CP Gyogon Augustine Grimah, who has been redeployed to Kaduna State Police Command.

Opara said he will consolidate on the feats of his predecessor, even as he warned criminals to steer clear of the state.

Grimah spent a little over a year in Cross River which time saw reduction in criminal activities in parts of the state.
