James Ogaba Oche has assumed office as the Benue State Commissioner for the Public Complaints Commission, PCC.

President Bola Tinubu appointed Oche a few months ago.

Oche previously served as the executive chairman of Ado Local Government Area.

Speaking shortly after assuming office in Makurdi on Tuesday, Oche pledged to champion impartial investigations on behalf of complainants aggrieved by the actions or inactions of government and private institutions.

“Today, I officially assume office as the Benue State Commissioner for the Public Complaints Commission, PCC, and I wish to emphasize that the essence of the commission will be driven with passion across the state,” he said.

“Staff welfare, which is a top priority for the Honourable Chief Commissioner, Rt. Hon. Bashir Abubakar will receive adequate attention under our joint leadership.”

He urged the commission’s staff to work diligently to achieve its goals, expressing confidence that the Benue State Office of the Public Complaints Commission will be recognized for its achievements under his leadership.

“I thank God for the grace upon my life and appreciate the President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Assembly, and the government and people of Benue State for the privilege to serve. I especially thank the Minority Leader of the Senate, Sen. Comr. Abba Moro (Ph.D), for his unwavering commitment to ensuring my appointment.”

Oche reiterated the commission’s aims and objectives, including promoting social justice for individuals and providing a viable option for anyone seeking redress against injustices arising from administrative errors, omissions, or abuses by government officials or private entities.

“The commission in Benue State, under my watch, will champion impartial investigations on behalf of complainants aggrieved by the actions or inactions of government and private institutions,” he affirmed.
