The Executive Vice Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Dr Aminu Maida has been selected to preside over the highly anticipated SUPERNEWS Nigeria SMEs conference.
The event will take place on June 13, 2024, at the Radisson Hotel in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.
In a statement released by SUPERNEWS Nigeria’s Publisher, Ngozi Onyeakusi, the decision to appoint Dr. Maida as Chairman reflects the NCC’s unwavering dedication to establishing a robust and trustworthy regulatory framework that will foster positive outcomes in the Federal Government’s financial inclusion policy.
Recognizing the immense potential financial inclusion holds for the Nigerian economy and financial stability, this conference aims to pave the way for significant advancements in these areas.
Maida’s impressive academic background includes an MEng in Information Systems Engineering from Imperial College, London,in 2002,and also a PhD in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Bath, United Kingdom, in 2006.
Furthermore, he bagged a Post Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship (FinTech Pathway) from the Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, between 2018-2019.
The conference will serve as a convergence point for regulators, key players in the financial services and ICT sectors, as well as small business owners, among others. Renowned economist Dr. Biodun Adedipe, Founder and Chief Consultant of B. Adedipe & Associates Limited, is set to deliver a keynote speech on the theme ‘Bringing SMEs into the Financial Services Network via Fintech,’ while the Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) will inaugurate this momentous event.
