The Zamfara State Fire Service has revealed that in 2023, the fire outbreaks destroyed properties worth N273,335,230 between January to December in the State.
The Executive Director of the State Fire Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Jibo Dauran, told newsmen in Gusau, the State capital, that the incidences occurred at various times in the year.
According to him, they saved 842,933,340 properties, with 75 injured, 80 dead and 75 fire calls in 2023.
Dauran further explained that the fire outbreaks in Gusau metropolis included power surges, gas cooker incidents, among others.
He advised people of the State to switch off all electrical apparatuses before sleeping or leaving houses and offices.
He said some of the duty of his office include, rescue operation, humanitorial services, among others.
