A former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has called for the public execution of Mohammed Bello, the deadly kidnapper arrested in Abuja recently.
Nigeria Police Force on Sunday said it they have arrested a suspected kidnapper believed to be involved in the abduction and murder of Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar and other victims of kidnapping in the Federal Capital Territory.
The Police, in a statement, disclosed that 28-year-old Bello Mohammed was apprehended in a Kaduna hotel raid on January 20 with N2.25 million in suspected ransom money.
The Police said Mohammed confessed under questioning to being part of the gang that kidnapped family members in Bwari on January 2.
“While I am aware that the law may not agree with me, but the public execution of that terrorist Mohammed Bello, the apprehended kidnapper involved in the kidnapping of #NajeebahAndHerSisters and murdering of Nabeehah and two others, could serve as a stern warning to the remaining members of his gang and other criminals across the country,” Ahmad wrote on X.
“The last time I checked, the maximum punishment for kidnapping was 10 years imprisonment under the Terrorism Act 2011.”
